SUMMARY: EAGLES MERE ASSOCIATION TRUSTEE MEETING FEBRUARY 16, 2008 In the interest of communication, transparency, and sharing information, the Trustees have approved posting a summary of Board meetings on our web site. For additional information, please refer to the Goals of the Association for 2008, also on the web site. The main purpose of this meeting is the review and approval of the annual budget for 2008.
Welcome new members: Jean Cook Alley, Michael Miller, and Jackson Ward. Water Carnival is scheduled for the second Saturday (August 9, 2008) in August. The boat dock at the beach boat house will be reconstructed for Summer Season. Boat rentals have increased significantly since 2005. A part of the capital budget is to add to the fleet of rental boats, including new kayaks with kayak racks to be installed on outside of the Edgemere boathouse and the beach boathouse. Members are encouraged to store their kayaks on the racks to allow additional dock space for a more orderly placement of canoes and rowboats. Tennis plaques will be mounted on the end of one of the locker rows to display the results of various activities and tournaments. Additional handicap parking and bicycle racks will be in place at the beach for summer 2008. Country Club withdrawal of lake water is under study relative to historic lake water withdrawals and impact on lake ecology and association use. Discussions will be held with representatives of the Country Club. Beach shop operations will be managed again by Ann Ewing following a successful 2007. Boathouses/docks: Renewal of leases approved for three year terms, beginning in July, for Yacht Club and for Julie Stauffer. Approved requested changes in private docks for Ted Lingenheld and Mark Stitzer, with the condition that the designs meet written EMA guidelines for docks. New guidelines were adopted for the training, supervision, and performance of EMA lifeguards. Lifeguard chairs will be equipped with umbrellas. Approved request by the Civic Club to use the Great Room for social activities and as a site for their bake sale during rainy weather. We welcome your feedback. Thank you for your interest and attention to this process. |
