EMA Temporary Membership

We welcome you to our Association even though it may be for a brief time.  The Eagles Mere Association (EMA) owns, protects and maintains Eagles Mere Lake and Outlet Pond and a strip of shoreline approximately 100 feet wide surrounding these waters.  The EMA is a private organization and its facilities and properties are not open to the general public.

In order to enjoy the privilege of using EMA property and facilities,  renters who are renting cottages of EMA members, or who are guests of member Inns, Lodges, and B&Bs, or who are guests in a member’s cottage when the member is not in residence, must become Temporary Members of the EMA.

To obtain Temporary Membership in the EMA, complete the attached application and return it with a check for the full amount of the Temporary Membership Fee to the:
Eagles Mere Association, P.O Box 308, Eagles Mere, PA 17731
If you wish to take advantage of the Pre-Registration discount, the EMA must receive your application and check prior to June 1st.
The application and fees must be received and approved before the use of any EMA property or facilities is allowed.

Temporary Membership Fees

The amount charged for Temporary Members residing in cottages is based on (1) the sleeping capacity of the cottage, and (2) the length of the rental period.  Please use the chart and information below to determine the amount of your membership fee. (If you are staying in an Inn, your application and fees will be handled through the Inn.)  Only one occupant of the cottage needs to apply for Temporary Membership.  The single membership and fee will cover the applicant(s) and their guests in the cottage (as listed on the application) for the rental period.

Fees & Regulations

1.   There is a one week minimum for Temporary Memberships.

2.   Extra rental days in excess of  a full week period will be charged on a prorated basis.

3. Renters must obtain Temporary Membership for the full period of their stay.
Renters who elect not to join initially, and then change their minds later, can become Temporary Members only by paying the full amount due for their entire rental period.

4.  The Temporary Membership is in effect for the rental period only.

5.  Rentals for a full calendar month (i.e. July or August) will be charged for 4 weeks.

6. There is a discounted “seasonal rate” available for rentals that encompass the defined EMA season (Season is 11.4 weeks from mid-June through Labor Day).  This seasonal rate is derived by multiplying the weekly charge for the cottage by 9 weeks.  Example: The seasonal rate for a cottage sleeping 1 – 10, using the Pre-Registration rate, would be $900.00, rather than $1,128.50.
