SUMMARY: EAGLES MERE ASSOCIATION TRUSTEE MEETING In the interest of communication, transparency, and sharing information, the Trustees have approved posting a summary of Board meetings on our web site. The primary purpose of the August meeting is to prepare for the Annual Membership Meeting and address ongoing issues. The Saturn water toy has developed a leak that cannot be repaired and will be replaced prior to the 2009 season. The schedule for 2009 Vesper Services on the beach was approved for 6:00PM on Sunday July 19th and August 16th. EMAA has requested dates of August 8th for Water Carnival and August 15th for the Regatta for the 2009 Season. A request to repair and repaint the award boards for past regattas, mounted at the locker area, was approved. A request from the Eagles Mere Conservancy to locate a plaque and bench near the outlet pond, in honor of Fred and Mary Godley for their dedication and contributions to the preservation of Eagles Mere and Eagles Mere Lake, was approved. The Lifeguard Training Course conducted during July resulted in six new Red Cross Certifications in Life guarding. A new AED (Automated External Defibrillator) has been purchased and is on site and operational. Major improvements to the Laurel Path are planned during the next few years. The purchase of motorized equipment has been approved to expedite that project. The members approved the following Trustees as presented by the Nominating Committee: Amy Gardner (re-election), Bob Klarsch (re-election), George David (new trustee), Lewis Leibowitz (new trustee), Alice Weeman (new trustee) for terms expiring September 30, 2011. During the re-organization meeting following the Annual Meeting the following officers were elected: Lance Robson, President; Pat Piper-Smyer, Vice President; Steve Hilbert, Treasurer; Amy Gardner, Secretary.
